I'm confused by Geno Auriemma and this entire concept of the UConn women's basketball team breaking the UCLA men's record streak of 88 consecutive victories. "I just know that there wouldn't be this many people in the room if we were chasing a women's record," Auriemma said. Huh? I had no idea that was possible. So when I look in the record book tomorrow under longest winning streak in Division I men's basketball history, it will read "University of Connecticut (women)"? Pelini Fired After 7 Seasons, Fans Wanted 18 More Just to Make Sure Not as Good as Osborne

Bo Pelini has been fired after 7 seasons at Nebraska. And, say it with me...that's OK. Bo Pelini was not the next Tom Osborne. Just because Osborne didn't win a championship right away- and Nebraska stuck with him- doesn't mean they should keep Pelini around in the hope that he will start winning championships too, if only given enough time. By that logic, every coach should be given 25 years just to make sure he isn't the next Osborne. Pelini was given enough time to prove he wasn't close to winning anything (unless you count being about 50 points shy of winning a Big 10 Championship). Other than piling up more wins (mostly against mediocre teams), a true in-depth comparison of Pelini's first 7 years to Osborne's clearly shows the two coaches are not in the same stratosphere. This, I believe, is the personification of Trump voters. Bitter, mostly older, white people. People that are angry and terrified by what they see as the "pussy-fication of America," a phrase I came up with a few years ago to describe the growing backlash of Americans who see the world rapidly changing all around them and long for the days when we told all the "outsiders" in our society to fuck off, instead of giving them equal rights. People who see a world filled with gay rights, and transgender issues, and Bruce Jenner turning into a woman and say, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's all this nonsense? I remember when we used to make fun of these people, not give them awards." So the angst-filled voted for Donald Trump.
